Two Fundamental Truths Humanity Has Forgotten
These truths can give us the power of faith to overcome an increasingly negative world.
I’m writing this article during the time of an unprecedented event in modern history. A global virus, known as COVID-19, has forced millions of people to quarantine inside their homes and shut down life as we know it.
The combination of the virus and the economic consequences have left many questioning the meaning of life, and what matters.
Where do we go from here?
These challenging times are a great reminder of faith and the power it holds over our lives. Without meaning and purpose, our lives become random bits of chaos blended in a cosmic soup.
I do believe in the power of science, truth, problem-solving, and logic to transform the world we live within, but this doesn’t negate the need and importance of understanding our spiritual heritage, and the place faith has in our lives.
Our roots run deeper than we can imagine.
Being human is a deeply spiritual experience, but many of us never give ourselves the chance to experience this. It flies in the face of our material-focused world.
Denying ourselves spiritual experiences leads to great despair and suffering. This suffering is rooted in the denial of our spiritual heritage, and when you look at the world today, it’s no wonder people are losing their minds.
We’re living in such abundant and resourceful times, but we still fight and battle over petty differences. All major religions of the world share many of the same fundamental truths.
We are children of Creation and siblings of life.
These two truths bind us together to make us part of the same family. They unite our nature and our destiny. To ignore them is detrimental to our well-being and purpose in the world.
We’re in the world to learn of our Eternal nature and to understand the ways of love and life. To understand what it means to be compassionate and merciful. These truths add context to everyday existence and give us something to strive towards.
I’m not talking about bypassing this world to move into some fantasy state of ecstasy and childish inhibitions. I’m speaking of a life lived in a state of awareness that bridges the gap between Spirit and material.
A life wide awake.
A life of fulfillment and purpose.
Understanding we’re connected to ancient wisdom and order that goes beyond our world is hard to comprehend and accept.
The world we find ourselves in is continuously focused on the material and endless pursuit of power and status.
The endless material pursuit is part of the deception we have created for ourselves here. We deceive ourselves into believing we are small and useless. That our lives do not matter, and there is nothing to hope for. That material experiences and climbing the social ladder are all that matter.
These things are only valid if we choose to believe them.
We’ve been given the power to choose what we believe and how we will live because we’re free to walk the path we desire even if this means destroying ourselves in the process.
The power is in choosing which path we will take and the destiny we will pursue. By choosing a life of faith, hope, and Spirit, we change our lives forever. These changes are tangible and will transform our experience of life.
The only thing we must do is choose to believe.
The choice to believe in our heritage and walk this path is all that’s required of us. By doing so, we are given the Eternal promise of life. Our beliefs and faith are how we grow beyond this world.
Our belief is the beacon sent to God that we are here and that we choose to walk in His/Her Glory. You see, God is waiting for us to turn and open our hearts to the heritage that is ours. We will never be forced to do this as it defeats the whole purpose of free will.
The choice is what defines us.
By making this choice, we open the channel of Eternity within our hearts to break down the doorways of existence and experience. The opening is our anchor throughout life. By opening our hearts and minds to our Creator, we finally lay claim to our spiritual heritage and the many gifts that come.
No longer do we have to feel isolated and miserable in a world turned cold and selfish.
God is our answer in a cruel world.
Our relationship with God is personal. I’m not talking about organized religions and their endless rules and hypocrisy.
God is within each of us.
I don’t mean hypothetically, but literally within us. God has sent us into the world with a fragment of Herself that is waiting for us to open.
We don’t need religions, churches, rules, books, and preachers to find God. We simply need to look within ourselves and pray. Pray to the everlasting Father of love and mercy. Speak to the Eternal Mother of existence and ask her for guidance and protection.
Whatever we need, we simply can ask with a humble and open heart.
To see the world suffering and struggling, it’s never been more important to find the power of faith within us and reach out to our Maker for guidance during these trying times.
All we have to do is ask and believe.
Remember, these two fundamental truths:
To believe in the Father/Mother of Life and that we are their children. To honor the brotherhood/sisterhood of humanity as siblings of life.
With these two truths come the high ascent throughout life. The most magnificent journey we could ever take.
Life can be such a blessing when we believe, even when everything appears to be crumbling around us.
