There are many misconceptions about shadow work and confronting our darkness. Fear has been leading how we engage these aspects of ourselves. It’s unfortunate because much of how we unlock our potential come by engaging directly with these parts.
Fear grows what we don’t face.
We’re going to discuss this and much more in today’s show.
Let’s dig in.
What’s Happening in Today’s Episode
Last week’s episode covered components of healing our wounds and why it’s so important to integrate the painful experiences of our past. We expand on these concepts and dig deeper into the shadow self and what it means.
Integrating our healing is fine if we know we need healing, but many of us don’t even realize the pain we carry. This is the shadow self. Understanding the nature of the shadow and how we can work with it is what we will be discussing today.
Here is a quick highlight of the main topics discussed:
Introduction to the Shadow Self
Understanding the Shadow Self
The Role of the Shadow Self in Today's World
Recognizing the Shadow Self
Techniques for Embracing the Shadow Self
Integrating the Shadow Self for Personal Growth
Conclusion
If we are unaware of the things that trigger us, set us off, upset us, and cause hurt without reflection on where these feelings come from, we are feeding the shadow self.
Our shadow grows as we ignore it and will grow to dominate our lives if it goes unchecked. We must develop the tools and courage to tackle this work so that we may reach our potential.
As always, with every episode of my show, I aim to share things that may resonate to be used in your life today. Studying the concepts of self-mastery will hopefully give you the tools to tap into your highest potential.
