Many seek to avoid uncomfortable things, especially regarding the feelings and thoughts we carry within us. They are overwhelming and intimidating. So we seek to avoid them.
This seems like a good plan at the moment, but over time this practice only grows the negative thoughts and feelings.
The way we overcome them is through integration. This means we must face down the demons/dragons within us to become the best version of ourselves.
Let’s dig in!
What’s Happening in Today’s Episode
Darkness, negativity, and “bad” experiences often get a poor rep. In my experience, I’ve seen how these foundational aspects of human life affect our ability to grow and expand.
When we allow fear to rule our lives, we run away from hard things. When love becomes our guide, we deepen our compassion for all of life, including the pain we carry within.
Our secret to unleashing our potential is often wrapped up in our most painful memories and experiences.
How we handle them determines our outcomes.
Here is a quick highlight of the main topics discussed:

The problem with avoidance
The benefits of integration
Strategies for integration
The role of gratitude in integration

Concluison
Incredible things can happen when we activate our courage and face our darkness. My life transformed when I embraced all the pain I carried within myself and sought to understand why I felt this way.
It was compassion towards my hurt and pain I’d never felt before, and it was coming from me. That initial hit made me realize this was life-changing when done consistently.
The keys to unlocking our healing and potential all lie within us.
