Nathaniel Branden spent his life working on Self-Esteem and how we can work to increase it. This series discusses his work based on the book, The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem.
You can access the first four episodes - part one, part two, part three, and part four. Make sure to start there if you haven’t yet, as we build on the concepts from previous episodes as we progress through the series.
What’s Happening in Today’s Episode
As we go deeper into the work of Nathaniel Branden, the pillars continue to build upon one another. These practices are the foundation of how we can build strength within ourselves. High self-esteem is crucial to success in today’s hyper-competitive, information-based society.
Learning these practices and applying them to our lives can empower us in ways we never thought possible. It’s one thing to think about these things, but it’s a whole new game when we begin to take daily action to support who we are and what we desire.
There are external factors that influence our self-esteem. Understanding those dynamics and how they impact us is crucial for growth and awareness.
Parenting and schooling are the two big aspects of external focus in today’s show. There will be a future show specifically around societal culture and how these things influence our overall progress as a species.
A quick highlight of the main topics discussed:
Parenting and the impact it has on each of us
What to learn from our past
How to apply these learnings to ourselves and our children
Understanding the impact of education
How things are currently structured
The ideal educational structure to support self-esteem
Some things to consider
This is the final episode of our 5-part series.
Here’s a link to the childhood trauma exploration exercises described at the beginning of the episode.
By learning about self-esteem and understanding how it impacts our lives, we can begin to work to improve it. Self-esteem is an achievement, and it’s within grasp for each of us willing to do the work.
This reality is both terrifying and empowering. We can do something about it, but it’s challenging work that takes time and effort.
Learning how external influences impact our relationship with ourselves allows us the ability to make changes. Awareness and understanding are essential.
I also look to learn from the great minds throughout history, and in today’s show, we discuss Nathanial Branden and his work on self-esteem. There’s so much to his work I decided to do a 5-part series to get deep into these concepts.
The goal is to find things that resonate to be used in your life today, so studying the various concepts of self-mastery will hopefully give you the tools needed to tap into your highest potential.
